Dan's Pacific Northwest and Alaska Journal, Day 2
Day 2, 6/22/2002
Poulsbo

We got to Helen's with almost no problem thanks to her excellent directions. Because of airport delays it was pretty late when we arrived so we didn't spend a lot of time visiting last night. After breakfast we checked out a walking trail near her house (Helen lives on the beautiful McCormick Woods Golf Course). A short walk led us to a partially collapsed wooden bridge across a lake where we could observe wildlife and just relax and chat and look! Later in the day we visited the picturesque Norwegian town of Poulsbo on the Kitsap Peninsula. We strolled down the main street looking in and at the shops, ate fish & chips (fresh Halibut) and stumbled into the St. Hans Midsummer Festival, a community activity featuring singing (by a courageous men's choir), folk dancing and fish tossing !?!
